A day to be proud -- September 11, 2002

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since that fateful day. It seems as if every day we now hear something about '9-11'. It was truly a life changing day for all of us, but even as much has changed, we must stay very proud of how much has stayed the same. Those planes not only shook the foundations of 3 large buildings.....they also shook the foundations of our lives, showing us just how precious life is, and how quickly it can be changed. I am not normally a patriotic person....I am more likely to rant about the ails of government, but that is for another time. Today, I can't help to feel how lucky I am to live in such a country that affords it's people such freedom. We are blessed to have returned to our daily lives, even as those forever-haunting pictures are still burned in the back of our minds. I know that in another twenty years we will all recall just where we were on that day. When you think, and watch, and reminisce on the tragedy that took place one year from today, do not only mourn the loss of those who are gone, but rather rejoice in the freedom that they have given us. The freedom to move on, and stay free after such horrific tragedy. They have given us more freedom by proving to us that we could hold on to the things that the terrorists had hoped to take away from us. We have held up in the face of adversity. We have rebuilt our thoughts and ideals, and we will continue to evolve as a country. Remember those that were lost, but keep your head high and be proud of everything that their loss has given us and reminded us of.

Frankenmuth Auto Fest 2002

Yesterday was Frankenmuth's annual auto fest, and there were some very impressive cars. I took about 80 pictures of some of my favorites, and have added them to a little slide show. Please be patient if you try to view these, for some reason the javascript I used preloads all the images, so it will take probably 5 - 10 minutes to load the 2.4 megs worth of pictures depending on your connection speed, but once they are loaded you will be able to cycle right through them. I will try to find a different script, but have some other things to work on first. If you cannot access the page, please contact me and I will be happy to send them to you. So what are you waiting for? Click here for your Frankenmuth 2002 Autofest pictures
